This DVD (yes, DVD. Unfortunately this isn’t available on Blu-ray) collects all 13 episodes of the show, which adds up to a combined three hours and 41 minutes of campy cartoon goodness. The story follows our hero Link and the titular Princess Zelda as they defend the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf.
There are no special features, behind the scenes, or commentary, and everything comes on one disc. It’s barebones by today’s standards, but owning a piece of Legend of Zelda and cartoon history makes it worth it. The new low price doesn’t hurt, either. The box art is great, showing Link and Zelda sporting their older designs that longtime fans are familiar with, and the spine looks great on a shelf despite the fact DVD boxes are taller than Blu-rays.
