Should You Buy an iPad or a Kindle on Sale for Amazon Prime Day?

We’re over halfway through Prime Day, and some of the best deals available this year seem to be on tablets. When considering what tablet to buy, iPad and Kindle are the two big brands that most people find themselves choosing between. While both are great, it’s important to pick a tablet with features you actually need. In other words, each brand targets different audiences.

Regardless of your choice, Amazon Prime Day is the time to buy, as we’re looking at new all-time low prices across the board.

    Kindles Are Best for Reading

If you’re just looking for the best tablet to read with, there is nothing better than a Kindle. This year, Amazon has slashed Kindle prices to record lows, which makes now the perfect time to jump in and start reading digitally. Each of these models on sale are the latest in their respective lines, so you’ll receive a new 2024 unit that’s equipped with all the latest Kindle technology.

The best deal available right now is the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite for $124.99, a price that is even lower than what we saw during Black Friday 2024. The Paperwhite features a bigger screen and adjustable light, allowing you to fine tune your reading experience. You can also score the base Amazon Kindle for only $84.99, which is a really solid price for those looking to purchase an e-reader for the first time.

iPad Is Your Best Bet for Gaming, Streaming, and Everything Else

An iPad is best if you plan to game, stream, or do pretty much anything other than reading on your tablet. iPadOS allows you to download almost anything to your device, and the ability to sync it with your iCloud can be a game changer for iPhone users. Plus, you can always read on an iPad, too. The big difference, of course, is the price point.

Thankfully, Prime Day has brought many great iPad deals, especially for iPad Air. You can score an 11-inch iPad Air with an M3 for only $479 today, and that’s this year’s model! If you want something bigger, the 13-inch M3 Air is also on sale for $679. Both of these prices are the lowest we’ve seen either iPad thus far, and it’s likely that we won’t see a better deal until Black Friday.
